Thursday 13 - The search is over

I love my statcounter for lot's of reasons. One of those reasons is seeing how people are finding my blog through searches or what have you. I started writing them down after I read this on Nikko's blog. Sometimes it can be downright scary to see the different searches that lead people to my blog (we won't go there), but mostly it is amusing.

13 ways to find Our Lot in Life
For anyone interested I am including the link to the particular post, if there is one, that goes with the search topic. Because I know you have nothing better to do than to read my blog all day long. ;)

1. What life was like on the Mississippi in the 1800's.

2. birth cord wrapped around neck

3. addicted to sleep (I get a surprising number of hits from this one)

4. Which direction would you be going from Denver, CO to Bismarck, ND? (Uh, no matches for this one)

5. Is reading blogs stalking?

6. Jordan dirt biking (I'm pretty sure they weren't talking about my Jordan, but they found him)

7. how is going to be the wreath from Monday to Sunday? (Huh?!?)

8. carrotjello at oinkledoinkle (Funny that someone was looking for carrot, and they found me!)

9. amanda love obituary picture (this one is kinda creepy!)

10. meatloaf with shredded zucchini (Mmmmm, we had that for dinner the other night!)

11. Mondays get me down

12. super craft Saturday lds relief society enrichment (I've talked about this too many times to
just pick one)

13. Last but not least...after my Labor Day post, Scott mentioned to our Bishop that I had written about our outing on my blog and that he had many adoring fans who wished they had a Bishop as cool as ours. The next day I was looking at my statcounter and I found a search using the search term, "amanda (insert my last name) blog". The person searching was from South Dakota, so immediately I knew it had to be him. Sure enough, he and his wife were looking for my blog and happened upon it. After I made a few changes to my blog, like removing the "I heart Edward" sign on my blog and removing any and all evidence of my last name, I sent an email to them to let them know they had been caught and to formally invite them to read my blog. I figured that was the nice thing to do since I had written about them and all.

So, how do people find you?

Facinating! Who knew?

The obituary one is creepy and sad.

I'll have to check mine. That's a great idea!

I was wondering where you I Heart Edward went...

Who googles "Mondays get me down"? So funny!

I get some interesting searches too! It's kind of fun to watch the stats!

I didn't know there was anything like that. I'm technologically challenged to a certain extent. I did google "yvonne's blog" and there are only 2.5 million.

Very interesting! I'm curious what others search to find mine? I think I'm gonna get me a stat counter and find out!!! (great, just what I need, something else to keep my occupied on the computer) :)

Hmmm, no idea.

How fascinating! It's crazy what people will search for. I wonder if you've gotten any regular readers from those searches.

Y'know, I'm dying to know how some people found my blog. Really. But my stat counter does not have the google-stats with it. Isn't that sad? (And every time I try to go to a site that has a google-stat thing, the site will never load for me. This I do not understand.)

hi amanda:
this is either really cool or really creepy. somethings are pretty sad that people has keyed in.

i have no idea how people have found me. do you know?

i know i found awesome wynne because she joined one of the LDS blogrolls (i did, too, the same month she did). maybe that is how some have crossed my path.

i never use my last name on my blog and i only use my name kathleen. i only use initials for my other people (except for bloggers, the awesome bloggers who frequent my blog and vice versa).

interesting post amanda.

chow,
kathleen :)

How funny that you felt like you needed to "clean up" your blog before you could invite them over!

I don't keep up on my stats, so I don't know where my huge group of fans comes from!

That is hilarious that your Bishop found your Blog! So far I've tried really hard to keep my blog private from most people in my real life, but I know something like that is going to happen to me too eventually!

People find me by googling "Suzanne Rose My State".
