Snow. Shovel. Repeat. x 3

Does anyone want to buy my house in South Dakota because I am moving to Hawaii! We'll even throw in the chickens for free!

Every year since we have lived here we have always had at least one really big spring snow storm to remind us that mother nature decides when winter is over, not the calendar. I wrote about one such storm on my last post. We had a deja vu storm this week. The kids once again missed school on Monday and Tuesday, putting their total days of school missed due to snow this year at 6. Lucky for us, another strong spring storm is in the forecast for today and tomorrow. Oh, goodie. I can hardly wait. (Can you hear read the sarcasm in my words?) On the bright side, the kids shouldn't miss any school with this storm.

This is Scott digging out the chicken house. Some of you have asked in the past how our chickens fair during the winter. We'll, Scott has created a chicken heaven for them in that little chicken house, complete with heat and solar lights that give them light at night. On really cold mornings when Jordan goes to open up their door and let them out, you can see the steam coming out the door from the warmth inside. Our little chickies stay toasty warm while the cold wind blows outside.

In other news, I took my midterm yesterday for my Medical Transcription training course and I passed. Granted it was an open book exam so it would be pretty embarrassing not to pass, but I was surprised how much I actually remembered without having to look it up. Soon I will get to actually start transcribing practice reports. I am really excited to finally get to this point. Though this portion is going to be tough with 600+ practice reports to transcribe before I can complete the course, but I should be well on my way to becoming a proficient MT by the time I am done.

In other, other news, I have to share Megan's latest. I try to record as best I can the cute things my kids do and say, but there is something about the moment that makes it all the more special and memorable. You have to be there to get the full effect. Yesterday we had this conversation...

After Megan gave me a big hug and told me I was the best mommy in the world

Me: "Megan, will you love me this much when you are a bratty teenager that thinks she knows everything?"

Megan: "Yes, because I don't know everything mom, you do!"

Me: "Can I get that in writing?"

Later, while eating carrots at lunch she said this,
"The skinny carrots are my favorite because I love skinny things, but I still love you mom."

Me: "Uh, thanks, I think."

And last, but not least. I have a link to share. I can vouch for this person, she is a friend of mine that I have the pleasure of knowing in real life. She is for real. Go read her story.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Love convos with the kids. I thought she was gonna say, "like you mommy."

We are sick of snow here, too. We don't cancel school. We just start later now. New this year. People can't get anywhere in the snow now a days, I guess.

WHat is up with all the snow? it's like you guys don't believe in spring or something.

"will you love me this much when you are a bratty teenager that thinks she knows everything?"
I asked Fashionista the exact same thing years ago when she was still sweet and perfect.
*Sigh*

Congratulations!!! That is something to be very proud of that you did so well on your mid-term. I know that it is not easy to do school work along with all of your other responsibilites. Scott cracks me up that he has a heat lamp in the chicken coop. They are living in a chicken condo not a chicken house.

I'm so incredibly tired of the snow. I just hope we are done with it. (Although I doubt it ; (

Congrats on passing the mid-term. I know how tough that terminology is. But, it really is fun once you know it. You amaze me that you're doing it with everything else you do. GREAT JOB

What do you do once you have a certificate?

Love the conversations with megan--too cute. So glad you are recording them.

I have to say, I am a tad jealous...we didn't get a single snow day this year!

Hey skinny girl! (You really are no matter what megan says!). I'm so glad to be away from all of the snow! I miss my friends in South Dakota though! When you told me about missing me at girls night I cried! (No big surprise that I would cry). I really miss my friends, but I'm glad that we can still keep in touch with blogging.
Great job on the midterm! You are amazing!

Wow, that chicken offer is pretty tempting. Too bad I live right by the grocery store.

I'm tired of the snow too! Boo hoo! But yay for you passing your course. I'll bet you felt so great after it was done!

P.S. If you really move to Hawaii, please stow me away in your suitcase. I won't take up too much room, I promise! ;)

Hello!!! We're doing great! 2nd Ward is quite a bit different...there's a wider range of age groups it seems. How are you guys doing?
