Weekend Wrap-up - updated

**Edited to add pictures of the kids swinging**

Friday night Kimberly and Kaylynn had a Daddy Daughter dinner/dance. I wish I would have gotten a picture of them dressed up so cute with their Daddy. Kim and Kay spent some girl time with Aunt Terri last week who helped them sew a cute skirt, which they wore that night. They were so excited about this special evening and have hardly talked of anything else for days! It sounds like they had a great time. I was able to help set up/decorate the gym at church and it looked like it was going to a fun evening.

Also on Friday night Jordan had a baseball game. He has been pitching this year and has been having a tough time. He has a great arm, and can throw really fast, but his aim needs work. At Friday night's game he was on fire!!! He pitched the first inning and struck out the first 3 batters. He pitched again the next inning and struck out the first batter. I was so mad because his coach took him off the mound to let another kid pitch. He wanted Jordan to be able to pitch in his game on Saturday too, which was the last game of the year. I wish he would have let him keep pitching while he was doing so good!

Jordan struggled with hitting the ball earlier in the season, but by the end of the season he was doing great. At his game on Saturday he hit the ball so hard that he, as well as two other players, made it all the way home. It was an awesome play! Probably the best play of the year. Of course I am not biased at all. Unfortunately he really struggled Saturday with pitching. :( I think he felt really bad after doing so well on Friday. Again I was really disappointed that the coach didn't let him keep pitching on Friday night. grrrr

Jordan's team - The Royals

All in all it was a great season. It was fun to watch the boys really come together by the end of the season. I wish they could've gotten a few more wins under their belt, but they played really hard and had a great time.

Sunday after church we went up to my brother-in-law and sister-in-law's house for dinner. They own a little piece of paradise in the hills . The kids always have so much fun there. The "M" family always has the most creative toys to play with and Roy's family is no exception. They fashioned a huge swing that flies high while you go around in circles.

This week we are planning a camping trip over the 4th of July. We are headed to Sheridan Lake. We also plan on watching fireworks at Mt. Rushmore which we hear are absolutely amazing.

Here is somebody's video of the 2006 fireworks. (1:45)

I am really looking forward to a getaway with our family, though the timing could be a little better. I am planning to leave with the kids for Utah for 2 weeks on July 6th. So that leaves me with little time to get everything done this week. Ahhhhh.....

4 people have something to say:

It sounds like Jordan had a great season. Do you have any pictures of the girls on their date with Dad? That would be cute to see. It sounds like you have some fun things coming up, enjoy it! I guess the 4th is really big here, we're excited to see it.

Who would have ever thought that I'd see fireworks exploding out of the Presidents' heads! ;D They look fantastic! You'll have to tell us how it goes!

Congrats to Jordan and his baseball. I'm sure it was so rewarding to see how he improved over the season.

And how fun that your daughter's got to spend an evening with their Dad! They'll have such wonderful memories of that! :)

Have fun on your trips!
