Well....enough about me

It seems like lately all I have been blogging about is me. So to prove that I am not the only member of this family I will do a little catch up on the rest of my family.

Jordan keeps very busy these days with gymnastics, among other things.

He goes twice a week for 1-1/2 hours. He is doing quite well and has been invited to move from pre-team to team. This is really exciting news except for the fact that we would have to take out a 2nd mortgage (not really, but almost) just to pay for it, not to mention the ginormous time commitment. This past Saturday Jordan had the opportunity to compete in a regional pinewood derby race. This is a race for the cub scouts in Rapid City, who won in their dens, to compete against each other. He took 2nd place in Bears. We took our camera but we got so caught up in the excitement that we forgot to actually use it. Doh! Tonight is Jordan's first baseball practice. He is looking forward to playing baseball again this year. Jordan is an all-around great kid and I love being his mom.

Kimberly and Kaylynn will be celebrating their 8th birthday this Sunday. I really can't believe that these precious girls have been a part of our life for 8 years now. I'll go more into that on their birthday. Kim and Kay are also enjoying gymnastics and doing well.

They have been invited to be on pre-team. We have enjoyed our time in gymnastics, but I believe we are probably done when school gets out. The girls would like to try something different, perhaps piano lessons. Scott and I are happy to oblige, so is our checkbook. Plus I don't think my sanity could handle 12 hours of gymnasitcs a week between Jordan and the girls.

Megan is a joy and a delight. She brings a special spirit into our home. Usually that spirit is joyful and happy, other times it is not so joyful or happy. She definitely has a mind of her own, has since she was born, and she is not afraid to let you know exactly how she feels. The other day Kaylynn came upstairs to tell me that Megan had hit her in the nose because she thought Kaylynn was sticking her tongue out at her. After I comforted Kaylynn, I then mused that Megan is not going to let anyone push her around. No one is going to bully Megan, that is for sure! Megan also started doing gymnastics at the first of the year and has really enjoyed it.

Scott has been given new opportunities to grow. On Sunday he was called to be the Stake Young Men's President and to serve on the High Council (I told him that he is officially old now because he is on the high council. lol). He has been serving in the bishopric for the last 4 years. It will be nice to actually be able to sit by him on Sundays, that is on the Sundays when he is not visiting another ward or branch. He is excited for this new opportunity, especially since the youth in our stake are going to Martin's Cove this summer. I imagine that he will still be quite busy, just doing different things.

Tonight I have enrichment night. We are having a garden party with dinner and then a guest speaker. He will be talking to us about gardening and answering any questions that we might have. For dessert we are eating dirt dessert in flower pots which are also doubling as our centerpieces. I think they are going to turn out really cute, I'll have to take a picture. I've also been continuing to go to the gym, usually 3 to 5 days a week. My ankle is still bothering me (going on 5 months since I sprained it) despite the physical therapy, so I am still limited as to what I can do at the gym. Though I did wake up this morning a pound lighter. Yay!!! Even more evidence that chocolate is not making me fat since I haven't been to the gym since Friday and I've started eating chocolate again. ;)

So our lives continue to keep moving on, faster and faster it seems. I am continually amazed at how fast my kids are growing. I am trying my best to enjoy every minute and hopefully teach them a thing or two along the journey.

Have a happy Tuesday (tax day) everybody!! :)

I can totally relate to the gymnastics commitment. I was so sad when Isabel decided to stop competing but have that few hundred dollars a month back not to mention 12 hours a week back has been soooo nice!

Oh yeah, I forgot today was tax day! Thank goodness my hubby did them 2 months ago! I'm the type of person that would be mailing them today!

How fun to see the pictures of your family! Jordan looks so much like your hubby!

I'm glad that Scott will be able to sit with you some Sundays now. It's the little things like that, that make such a difference.

Good luck with enrichment! I look forward to seeing the pictures! :)

That was a fun update on the kids! Wow, gymnastics is a huge investment time wise and financially. What a fun opportunity for the kids.

I'm glad you have your husband back for the most part on Sundays. Young mens and high council will be a fun change for him.

Your Enrichment night sounds so nice. I love learning all I can about gardening.

How fun to read a little update on your family.

Good luck with Young Men's. DH is our ward YM pres and it is a handful!

Gymnastics looks like it is so much fun. I know what you mean by giving it up and trying something different, though. I think that's the way we might be headed with soccer...

Your kids look like they are gymnastic pros! What fun! I've been thinking of signing Lindsey up for a toddler program to put some of her natural "bounce" to good use, do you think it's worth it for little ones?

Scott sounds like a busy guy (and that makes you a busy wife). I'm sure he will love his new callings.

Your garden enrichment is just what I need - darn it you are so far away! We are hoping to plant a little container garden soon and we don't know what we're doing!

Yea to all!!!
My younger daughter has been going to gymnastics since September, and likes it. But, I'm secretly glad that even though she's good, she's not that good.
Our gym pays a teacher to homeschool the girls on their team so they get school done in the AM and have all PM to practice.

Sounds like you are a busy busy mom. That was a great update on the kids. I'm glad to hear they are all doing well.

Your Enrichment sounds like it'll be great! I might have to use that for one of ours. I'm totally running out of ideas.

That was so fun. I loved the pictures--I have to admit I did a double take on Kimberly and Kaylynn (thought you posted the same picture twice ; )

When I go to see my grandchildren in California, my one granddaughter does gymnastics--that really is quite the commitment.

I'm sure your husband will love serving in the Stake Young Men's. Enjoy sitting next to him!!!
