Here at our house we started celebrating Valentines Day a day early. We had a special breakfast yesterday morning and I even drove the kids to school instead of sending them on the bus. The reason we started early is because today at approximately 4:00 am my husband and son left for a 10 day trip. They are headed to Arizona to spend a week 4-wheelin with 3 of Scott's 5 brothers and a couple of sisters too at Glamis sand dunes.
If this is your idea of fun, then evidently Glamis is the place to do it.
I opted to stay home. So for the next 10 days I am a single mom to three girls. I have decided to have a chick flick marathon while my husband is gone. I've borrowed Pride and Prejudice from a friend and I joined netflix earlier this week. Today I am expecting my first 3 movies:
- Sense and Sensibility
- An Affair to Remember
- 13 going on 30
Next I should be receiving:
- Breakfast at Tiffany's
- Music and Lyrics
- A Room with a View
- Say Anything
The only thing better than having a chick flick marathon while my husband is gone is to eat lot's of chocolate while watching chick flicks. I've said that so far giving up chocolate hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be. That was before Valentine's day hit me with a vengence.
I want chocolate!!!!!!!

18 people have something to say:
chick flicks... and chocolate! This will be your best valentine's day ever! :)
What fun to have a girl's week! Another one to add to your queue is The Princess Bride - always a good chick flick!
Today we had blueberry pancakes for breakfast and then the kids and I made a bunch of hearts and taped them to the wall (I cut, they glued). Tonight we are having friends over for fondue. Fun!
I totally want to go 4 wheeling! Oh well! Maybe this summer. I think you should watch Sleepless in Seatle after An Afair to Remember. They go together well. Have fun!
Looks like so much fun--WO!!! What young man wouldn't love that!!! (And I gather your husband would enjoy that, too!!!)
How fun to have it just be all girls at your house for 10 days. What a bad time to be giving up chocolate ; (
I would add Return to Me and You've Got Mail. I enjoyed A Walk in the Clouds. You probably won't find The Magic of Ordinary Days, but if you can, watch it.
You have some great movies to watch, how fun! Maybe you could add the romantic comedies of J-lo to your list....The Wedding Planner, Maid in Manhattan, Monster In Law. Or some of Kate Hudson's flicks....How to Lost a Guy in 10 days, and Raising Helen. Have a blast with out your men (but remain strong and no chocolate!) :)
Some people in our ward go to Glamis often. I think they are going this weekend, too, because our nursery people are going to be gone and she is one of them. :)
Enjoy your girls and movies--but remember-you are working toward an i-pod (did I remember that correctly??)
Splendor in the Grass!!! It's wonderful.
What fun!! You are strong...just remember that! Eat other candy!! :)
you've got mail!
Happy Valentines Day!
How about chocolate scented stuff?
Oh, I know, how about a chocolate rice cake??
good morning awesome amanda!
you silly girl :) i love your blog and you!
see you soon,
kathleeny :)
Chocolate and chick flicks, what fun! Hope you enjoy it.
Beaches...waaaaah.
Sleepless in Seattle.
When Harry Met Sally
Casablanca
Say no to chocolate, have an apple instead.
Ok, a banana.
Annie's Song!!
Okay, there was this episode of The Drew Carey Show and he dumped his girlfriend because she would start to sing this song and never finish the chorus and it drove him crazy!
Valentine's Day is nice. After Valentine's Day is better. It means half-price chocolates!
Ten days without my honey? I would never survive. But it sounds like you have a great line-up!
What lucky boys! I hope you and the girls enjoy yourselves too!
Say Anything! Is one of my favorite movies of all time! I love the lines:
"The World is full of guys. Be a man. Don't be a guy."
It is now my mantra when giving my male friend's "love advice"!
