Girl time

The last few days I have been trying to have lots of girl fun with my girls while the 'boys' are away. We went on a Valentines Day date to Olive Garden. On Friday night I thought I would be the coolest mom and take them to see Hannah Montana. My cool mom award deflated though when I refused to pay $18 per ticket. On Saturday I regained my cool mom status when instead I took them to see Enchanted. If you have not seen this movie, you should. It is really cute and clever and funny. I especially like the actress who plays Giselle.

I've been enjoying my chick flick marathon and trying not to pout too much while my husband is off having fun in the sun with our son while I am home with the girls freezing our tootsies. I've also managed to restrain from having any chocolate. It has been hard, but I bought these to be my special valentines treat. Sure, they probably have more fat and calories than chocolate, but at least I didn't eat any chocolate. 5 weeks down, only 7 more to go. Oh, speaking of chocolate....our server at Olive Garden was nice enough to sneak me an entire handful of those chocolate mints they give you. I didn't have the heart to say no to her so they are hiding in a special place for me to enjoy them all by myself in 7 weeks.

Back to the chick flicks, I do love Mr. Darcy! I've seen 4 different versions of Pride and Prejudice and like them all for different reasons, but I think this Mr. Darcy is the hawtest.

Someday when I'm really bored, lonely and desperate I'll have to watch them all back to back to see which is my favorite.

$18 a ticket?!? That's insane. Glad you regained your cool mom status, though.

Good for you on the chocolate. I don't think I could be that strong. ;o)

You are such a cool mom. I loved Enchanted, too. I think the actress who played Giselle was so adorable.

I have only seen that Pride and Prejudice with Kiera Knightley--so I love that Mr. Darcy.

So glad you are having such fun "Girl Time". Enjoy.

You are doing great with the chocolate.

I love to do girl stuff with my girls. Allen and AJ will go to work on a job or service project together and the girls and I will go do something fun; like buy earrings from Claires or go to ice cream with grandma (my mom).

You'll have to do a full movie review (or rundown) of girly flicks you've watching while your men have been gone!

Good job on 5 weeks with no chocolate! You can do it!!!!

Hey I am in chic flik girl mode too. Except I am doing it by myself. My 2 little boys don't realy help me get into my girl groove. So I have to wait until they go to bed. 2 weeks down. 11 more to go!! Let me know what great movies you watch.

nikko: I know, can you imagine paying $18 to see a concert that isn't even live!

yvonne: You should see the other P&P. I think my favorite overall was the 1940's version. I didn't even want to see it because it was so old, but I really liked it.

kathleen: You are too sweet! Your comments are always full of warm fuzzies! :) Not the Mr. Darcy kind, you know what I mean! ;)

klin: Shopping is always fun, oh and ice cream too! :D

deanne: I should do a review. I just barely finished watching The Notebook. That movie always makes me cry.

NCS: I'm so glad that you have seen Enchanted. Loved it! :D

Heather: Hi! I've tried not to complain too much about my husband being gone because I know so many women, like you, who's husbands are gone for months, not days. I don't have anything to complain about! :( Hang in there! {{{HUGS}}}

tori: Are you giving up chocolate too? We should start a new trend! Although I am totally going back to it come April 11th. I already have the 90th day marked on my calender! ;) I'll probably be eating chocolate on my way to pick up my new ipod! :P

I still haven't seen Enchanted. I really want to and so do my girls, we just might need to do a girls night out.

I haven't seen the newest Pride and Prejudice either. Boy am I behind. I love the other ones, so I'll have to check that one out too!

Goodness, $18 a ticket for a show marketed to preteens? I wouldn't have paid for it either. Olive Garden is yummy, though. I love to get the all you can eat soup and salad. Good luck with the chocolate, at least you can eat other goodies. I'd be going for the ice cream.

Good for you for not shelling out 18 bucks a ticket... when they are older they will understand!

Your girl time sounds like it was lots of fun, but then again girl time always is!
