Halloween........the day after

Because of our successful Halloween breakfast last year, my kids have been bugging me for weeks. "Can we have a cool Halloween breakfast again this year?" Being the mom that 'delivers', I delivered. We skipped the scrambled brains this time and instead went with a diced zombie skillet (potatoes, onions, sausage links and corn skillet - hubby's specialty). We feasted on ghost pancakes and drank vampire blood too. Of course, the kids loved it and according to them I am the coolest mom in town! ;)
For dinner, we feasted on txmommy's Pumpkin Chili and Slimy Red Goop Salad. Thanks txmommy for the fun recipes! Yummmm!!
Now, down to the nitty gritty.....

Jordan looked positively smashing as Annakin Skywalker. Though I am a little miffed that his class didn't have a Halloween party. Rather they had a "Fall Fest" with no costumes. I spent way too much hard earned money to buy his costume that he only got to wear once. Hmph!

Kaylynn looked radiant as Belle. The white turtle neck helped to make it more modest, not to mention it kept her warm. I was shocked at the costumes that they sell nowadays for little girls. My daughter will never go as a bar maid thank you very much!

Kimberly was beautiful as Sleeping Beauty! Again the white turtle neck saved the day. Unlike Jordan, the girls will spend countless hours playing 'dress-up' in their costumes.
Megan was a princess with a magic wand. I'd stay on her good side if I were you or else she might cast a spell on you. Just look at that face!

We did the obligatory trick or treating on our little street and then headed to the church for trunk or treating. We got there a little late and only got a little bit of candy. Our kids still have waaaaaay to much candy so I'm glad we missed the majority of the trunk or treat.

I've decided that someone should take the candy manufacturer's to court. If McD0nald's can be sued, then why not Hershey. Obviously it is their fault that I can't lose those extra 10 pounds. If they would just stop making candy for every season. For example, M&M's in different colors for every holiday, I mean come on really. It is not may fault. They sell them and I have to buy them. Candy has become such a huge part of every.single.holiday. It is no surprise that my clothes fit snugly in a matter of days during this time of year after spending weeks and months at the gym to get them lose again. What's a chocolate loving, candy craving mom to do? Some one must take action! Maybe at our rallies we could pass out black and white M&M's in honor of the jail time that these candy manufacturer's are sure to get. ;)

I'll join that lawsuit with you. Of course it's their fault and not ours! Hmmph.

Beautiful princesses and what a manly Annakin. :)

Annakin looks like he's all business! Don't mess with him!

What pretty princesses!

I'm so impressed with your cool breakfast! I would love a recipe for that hash - unless it's just a little of this and that with no real measurements!

Candy is my nemesis right now. I sent our frighteningly large bagful with Randy to work this morning, but kept a few pieces for Lindsey, and I have been wanting to eat them all day...sigh...

Jordan looks great as Anakin!

I'm with you, let's sue! It's all everyone else's fault, isn't it?

they all look great - I too was stunned reading an article about 9 and 10 year olds wanting corsets and fishnets [shudder] - my 'will-be-16-in-8-days' was still quite happy as Dorothy last week at our ward party.

LOL!!! You're right, we should sue Hershey! :D

Your kiddies look so darling! I think the turtlenecks look just great. A bar maid??? Oh, that's sad... We've got a lot of leftover candy here too and I'm trying to be strong. Trying! Thanks for sharing your pictures! :)

I love the Annakin!

Mint M&M's will be, or probably are, for Christmas. They are my weakness.
