Halloween Morning

We usually have a halloween dinner the night before halloween. This year I decided to do a halloween breakfast instead.

On our menu this morning for breakfast:

ghost pancakes

scrambled brains - I told the kids that while they were sleeping I took a straw and sucked out their brains. Dad told them, we didn't have enough brains so we had to use eggs instead.

fingers (sausage links) - I had the kids make sure they still had all their fingers and toes.

vampire blood (orange juice with red food coloring)

It was a lot of fun.

I am looking forward to tonight although it is going to be very cold. I decided that I want to introduce legislation to change Halloween from the last day of October to the first day of October. It is usually still warm then. Or better yet, why risk it at all. Let's move Halloween to the first of August. I know the teachers will love the idea. No more sugary hyper kids who can hardly stand the thought of going to school on Halloween. Such torture!

Happy haunting tonight! Here is a little something for you....

Wow! What an awesome breakfast! I so admire your creativity...not to mention mustering the energy to actually cook your kids a hot breakfast. I'm so bad at that!

I want to come to your house on Halloween!
What a cool way to start your day, loved it. The pancakes and brains are awesome.

That video is so fun. My kids' elementary school banned Halloween costumes, crazy hair day crazy hat day and all spirit weeks: they got a new principal and she was all about the ACADEMICS and no fun.
:(
Thankfully they are now out of elementary school.

Have a happy day!

I am impressed by your breakfast menu. Mine were lucky to get cold cereal! (as usual)

Was linking the video hard? It was really cute!

You are so creative! I should feel guilty that I don't do stuff like that, but knowing my 6-year old, he would be too freaked out to eat things that he thought were "gross." :D

It took me some time to figure it out this morning, so I would be happy to share with you how I did it.

I only know how to do this from youtube.

After viewing the video on youtube there should be an area on the right of your screen that says URL and Embed. Click on the embed and right click and copy.

When you are adding it to your blog post click on the tab that says "Edit Html". This tab is located above where you click to add a link or a picture. After you have clicked on the "Edit Html" tab, in your blog body paste what you copied from the youtube site.

Does that make sense? Let me know if you have any more questions.

i was thinking of changing Halloween to a month earlier too. maybe we can all get together and change it so we can actually wear costumes without the winter gear covering them up.
btw, just found your blog and love it.
