Thoughts on baptism, massages and buffalo wings

I am not sure exactly what was behind this dream that I dreamed last night. Maybe it was the Indian restaurant that Scott and I went for lunch yesterday. Maybe there was some spice with special herbal qualities that causes you to have strange dreams. Who knows! I don't get why I have dreams about church anyway.

In this dream Jordan was getting baptized. We had scheduled the baptism for a Sunday morning, during church, of all times. Then we were 2 hours late. Luckily everyone was still waiting for us when we managed to show. Things went from bad to worse. In my attempt to be a good mom, I had let Jordan plan the entire program. He chose speakers and their topics, he chose songs and how many and when we sang them. Oh, and for some reason we were sitting in a different room then everyone else, maybe because we were too embarrassed to show our faces.

The first speaker spoke on the power of massage. Interesting, but how it relates to baptism I'm not sure. The next speaker spoke about buffalo wings. In a way I can see how you can relate the burning sensation you get after eating buffalo wings to the burning in your bosom you get from the Holy Ghost, but it is a stretch. I can't remember the specifics of the songs we sang, but we sang a lot, and not one of them was a church song. Finally the bishop had to interject and remind us that we were at a baptism and perhaps it was time to actually do the baptism.

I remember thinking throughout my dream, I am so glad this is just a dream. I would be so embarrassed if this were really what happened. In reality, Jordan was baptized last year. It was a nice baptism with no mention of massages or buffalo wings. We had your typical program -talk on baptism and talk on the Holy Ghost. Nothing strange or out of the ordinary. The twins will be turning 8 in April, maybe I'll have to spice things up a bit then! ;)

In other news: The kids missed the bus this morning. The first time ever since they started riding the bus, which in my mind is a major accomplishment. As a result I had to take them to school. It take long for me to remember why I was so eager to let them ride the bus. Phew! I'm glad I don't have to deal with the school parking lot crazies every day anymore!

I'm still stuck on the fact that you got to go and have lunch with your husband. Sounds like fun--I'll have to do that once in awhile.

Crazy dream--love your analogy of the buffalo wings and the burning sensation of the Holy Ghost.

I don't miss those mornings of dealing with parents in school parking lots!!!

Crazy dream? Are you pregnant, Amanda??? ;)

No really, I have the answer. You need a massage because you're stressed about church stuff. Oh and you may be craving some buffalo wings. Just my take! :D

Funny! Maybe you went to bed hungry? And maybe the massage message is to go get one after carpool. I can't do the carpool, either. Insanity! (Only very few get a bus, too, so there are a bazillion people in car pool.)

Bwa ha ha ha! What a silly dream. Must have been the Indian food. :o)

I'm with you on the school parking lot crazies. It's worth it to get up just a little bit earlier to catch the bus!

Funny dream! It sounds like it was a little stressful though, maybe you need to try out the power of massage and then get some buffalo wings with your hubby for your next lunch date (I'm so envious you get to do that!) I have been having some crazy ones since getting my wisdom teeth out - I blame the pain killers.

Lunch date to an indian restaurant? you guys are so cute!

I recently went to a baptism that was nearly that bad. We arrived to find that the font had just started filling. After waiting nearly an hour they started the program, and it turned out that the baptism speaker didn't show up... and because of the long wait the large crowd of kids were going bonkers during the whole thing. it made me a little sad. atleast they didn't speak about massage...

Why do we dream the things that we dream? CRAZY!

My kids were all late to school today. It was a crazy morning.

I need an "I love Edward" sign. How do I get one?

Ugh. Can I tell you how much I HATE driving my kids back and forth 20 minutes to school each day? I have to do this until November until they get a state count because my son is on a space available basis. Not that you care. I'm just sayin'.

Wow, you are a deep thinker in your dreams! The whole wing/burning in your bosom thing is awesome haha!

The power of the massage is a little crazy haha. I laughed really hard!

My dreams usually consist of an attractive male saving me from danger in some way...seriously EVERY night. It used to be Troy Bolton from High School Musical...now it is Edward :) I could write thrilling stories from my dreams, except I forget the details within minutes after waking up :(

yvonne: My hubby and I try to go to lunch 2 or 3 times a month. I love that time together! :)

suzanne: Very funny!!! hahahaha!!! No, I am most definitely not pregnant! ;) A massage would be awesome, I think the buffalo wings part was because I had heart burn in the middle of the night. Or maybe that was because I was dreaming about buffalo wings....

lisa: I was thrilled last year when the school district decided to allow bus service to more families (the old guideline was you have to live 2.5 miles from school - we live 2.3 miles from school!) Yipee!!!!!

nikko: Yes! Though sometimes when my alarm goes off at 6:00 I wish I could sleep in a little longer. Yesterday was a nice reminder of why I sacrafice a few extra minutes of sleep! ;)

mary: Pain killers induced dreams are interesting too! The funny thing is I don't even like buffalo wings. They are too spicy for me! The massage I'll take!

wendy: It is the cutest little Indian restaurant downtown. Their food is delicious!!! I can't believe you actually lived my dream, well sort of. Ahhh!

utmommy: Dreams are crazy sometimes! I'll get you a link for the I heart Edward sign. :)

carrot: I hope that you can get bus service after November. I LOVE it! And of course I care! :)

lauren: I always think my dreams would make great movies (with the exception of the baptism one) but I can't remember them long enough either! If only....

We're going to a baptism today so I'll be paying close attention to the songs and talks. :)
I don't put my child on the bus (for a variety of reasons that don't apply here), but our school has the pick up/drop off thing down to a science. If any goofball messes up the flow, there are honkers being honked.
