*Updated to let you know that I have added a couple of yummy soup recipes to my Good eatin blog. Check it out if you like.
I am home yet again this Sunday. That makes two Sundays in a row. We never miss church so I am sure the missionaries or somebody else is going to stop by today to make sure that we (meaning me and the kids, Scott NEVER misses - that's a whole other story) aren't losing our testimonies or something.
Scott and I went on a date last night. You'll never guess where we went to dinner.....The mall. I haven't done that in ages. We were running late to get to our movie so we decided to grab a bite to eat at the mall food court. Talk about feeling O-L-D! I am pretty sure we were the oldest ones there. We dined on a delicious dinner of mall Chinese food. Not great, but cheap.
After dinner we went to a movie. After seeing that most of the movies that were playing were rated R we opted for a movie that neither of us had heard of before, Stardust. We were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed this movie. It was full of action, romance and clever humor. It had some violence and some risque moments, but overall it was good.
Shortly after we went to bed Kimberly came in our room complaining of a tummy ache. I gave her a tums and sent her back to bed. A little while later she came back in. I could tell she was about to puke so I rushed her to the bathroom, barely making it. She was sick the rest of the night. I had no idea that one little girl could hurl that many times, and have the runs at the same time. I felt so bad for her! Finally around 4:00 this morning she stopped throwing up. I am still crossing my fingers that no one else gets it. So far so good. I'm chalking it up to a bad happy meal at McD's for lunch yesterday. I did scrub both bathrooms this morning though, just in case. There is nothing worse than throwing up in a dirty toilet.

18 people have something to say:
Poor Kimberly!! I hope she feels better.
Sei and I have gone to the food court at the mall as a date too! There's so many choices and it's close to the theater. Sei's parents do that all the time, so yeah, we felt old.
Poor Girl. My girls are famous for that stuff around here. I am playing hookey, too. I am pretty much exhausted so I got a sub for my sunbeams. I am going to sit with my friends son (aka my son's friend) who has the brain injury. That way she can go to church. He isn't doing well and they don't want him to be alone.
So yeah, Here I am reading blogs, fun to do and I can do it in my jammies. :D
I was going to post as anonymous and say I was from your Ward and I was just wondering why you weren't at Church. Ha, ha!!! Hope your little Kimberly is feeling better.
I appreciate the thumbs up for Stardust--we've wanted to see it but didn't know anyone who had. We'll give it a try.
tori: We will probably do it again. There is a lot to choose from and we can even eat at different places if we want to.
kayelyn: I love that I don't have to dress up to visit my blog friends!
yvonne: That would have been funny! Especially since my bishop found my blog the other day after my husband told him I blogged about our LAbor day outing. I told him that I caught him though on my sitemeter! :)
Hope you like the movie. It was silly, but good.
McDonald's can do that to a little girl....does it to this big girl sometimes too.
Uck, we've had the bug here for over a month.
Yeah for date night!
Hooray for a date!
Poor Kimberly! I hope she's feeling better soon and that all of that being sick hasn't left her dehydrated. And I hope you can reactivate yourself and go to church again soon :)
Poor little girl, I hope she feels better soon. I amazes me too at how much these kids can up chuck! I love when they learn to hit their target.
Hope it was from food, and will not spread through the family.
Sounds like you had a great date!
Being at the mall during the week in the morning is a totally different scene than Friday night!
Oh no. That's the worst :(
I agree with my fellow commenters: Hopefully it's just do to food.
:)
Oh no! That is the worst. Best part--making sure no one has to barf in a cruddy potty. That just adds insult to injury for sure.
Hoping all is settling over there!
Poor baby!!! --And mom. I eat at the mall whenever I have to spend the day there shopping with my girls. We always eat Chinese! I thought for sure you were going to say it was YOU that got sick!
My hubby had this same sickness yesterday!!! Fever and all the tummy problems. He is feeling better, which is good since he needs to be available for traveling.
Ewe, puke. That's never fun, regardless of a clean toilet or not (but you're right, a dirty one makes it worse!). I hope the rest of the family escapes it!!! At least her timing was good and that you still got your date! :)
poor little Kim! I hope she's feeling better, and that no one else is sick!
But I'm totally glad she got sick AFTER your hott date! Stardust sounds fun - would it work as a girls night out movie, or more of a date?
Stardust was a book first by Neil Gaiman who writes really good and creepy books for kids that always includes a short life lesson.
I hope your Kimberly feels better. Are you keeping her in quarantine? I do that sometimes when my girls get sick since they share a room.
Oh that is horrible, I hate the tummy flu. It's the worst thing.
I like a clean toilet to throw up in too.
We went camping this summer, and I was so sick to my stomach the entire time, and I just could NOT throw up in the port-a-potties.
*sigh*
Fun date. I love doing stuff like that.
You have a gift my friend do not hide it under a bushel basket.
I hope Kimberly feels better soon! And I hear you on the toilet--it makes me want to throw up even more to do it in a dirty one!
Poor kiddo. And nothing says "I love you" like a clean toilet. (I think that was a flylady quote. Anyone know?)
And I'm glad you enjoyed Stardust. I was wondering about that one...(I read the book and liked it, but wasn't really sure how it was going to translate into a movie.)
