Checking in

We have been having a great time here in Utah visiting family and friends. The weather has been cooler (not in the 100's every day) which has made our stay even more pleasant. My Dad drove all the way from Denver to spend some time with the grandkids as well. It has been great to see him again. We spent Monday in Brigham City visiting with my brother Tom and his family. It was nice to see them and their sweet little boys. Tom's wife Melanie told me that she reads my blog occasionally. Hi Melanie! :) Now I have to be careful what I say. ;) Now I just need to get them blogging again.

Saturday was the day of the Utah Blog-fest. What fun this was!! I feel it is a little redundant to blog about it now that everyone else has written such great posts about it. Since I am not on my own computer at home and don't have my photo saving and sharing abilities you'll have to view pictures of blogfest on someone else's blog. I believe everyone has written about it by now. It was great to meet Tori, Suzanne, Utmommy (I know her real name :P), Kayelyn, Mel, Gina, Lisa, and Emily.

I was nervous and anxious about meeting these wonderful blogging ladies in person. I was so excited that upon seeing a Lincoln Navigator (which Chel said she drives) just outside of Heber City with two women inside, I nearly rolled down the window and made a fool of myself. I was ready to wave and say hello. Luckily I noticed that it had a Utah license plate which means it couldn't possibly be Chel's. Sadly Chel (and Scarlet) as well as some others, were not able to make it to the party. We managed to go on without them and had a wonderful time! Thanks to Tori and Suzanne for putting it all together and for Emily for hosting it at her fabulous mansion cabin.

Yesterday I was able to meet up with Suzanne again. This time we met at her house and our kids were able to go swimming together. Her kids "D" and "J" are so cute and so sweet, just like Suzanne. I'll add pictures after I get home. It was fun to see the kids interacting with eachother and playing in the pool. Suzanne is so sweet and just like how you expect her to be. What fun it has been to meet these fabulous ladies and feel like they are old friends.

I am still not sure when I am leaving to head home. I miss Scott tremendously and can't wait to get back to see him. Though I am having a wonderful time visiting family and friends. I am not sure the next time I will get back to Utah so I want to take advantage of the time I have.

Tonight my mom is treating me to a date. We are going to dinner at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and to see Mama Mia. I had never heard of this musical until my mom asked if I wanted to go. It looks really good and I am looking forward to going.

What a fun trip! Don't you just love visiting home? The Utah blogfest sounds like it was lots of fun and I'm jealous you and Suzanne got to hang out!

Have fun on your date with your mom. Eating at the Joseph Smith Memorial building is so nice. I've never seen Mama Mia, but isn't it full of Aba music? I do love musicals, so I'm sure it will be great fun!

I think Mama Mia is full of ABBA music so hopefully you like them. (I do!) Have a safe trip home. :)

So glad you came all the way from SD just to meet us. I feel it was our treat.

Have fun here and when you do head home- have a safe trip.

So none of your bloggy friends had a pegleg or a glass eye (or were otherwise mildly frightening)? Not that you could say, if so, because then they would read it, wouldn't they?

I'm actually nervous about meeting blog-made friends. Not so much because I think they are gonna be weirdos, but because they're gonna think I'm one.

You're so BRAVE, amanda!

hi amanda: this.sounds.like.so.much.fun!

you made me chuckle when i read how you were acting wild in front of the wrong car. reminds me of when you think you see someone you know, so you wave all big, then pretend to adjust your hair, then put your arm back down.

safe travels girl. you and your kids are in my prayers for a safe return :) kathleen

Ooooo! How fun! Even though I've never really lived in Utah, it does seem like going home. Your date with your mom sounds fun!

Have a safe drive home!

Amanda... wish I would have been there!! It sounds like everyone had a blast! That would have been sooooo funny had you said something to the girls in the navigator! :)
I ended up having to make a decision.. to go or help my mom prepare for my bro's farewell. The drive to and from Heber was just too much, when I felt I needed to be there for my mom.
I am so glad you had a great time and are having a great vacation.
