Weekend Wrap-up June 4

We certainly are setting the bar high for the rest of the summer. Last weekend was a lot of fun, as was this weekend. I'm sure there will be plenty of hoe hum days this summer, but we'll enjoy the good times while they last.

The weekend began with date night Friday night. It seems like it has been forever since our last date, and that can hardly be considered a date since the dinner my husband bought me consisted of a hot dog, nachos and a powerade. lol

Our Friday evening was supposed to be spent in the hills at a cub scout cookout/pack meeting. The rain and cold weather caused a change of plans. Fine with me, I wasn't looking forward to a cookout in the rain. Instead, we got a last minute babysitter and went to dinner and a movie. We ate dinner at a new restaurant in town. It is a Russian restaurant. The food was good, service was not so good. We figured it is because they are fairly new and are still working out the kinks.

Following dinner we went to see P!rates of the Caribbean 3. The third movie was definitely full of action and suspense. It was left wide open at the end for a sequel, which I was not expecting. So once again you are left wondering and waiting for a resolution. Just a heads up, if you plan on watching the movie wait around until after the credits. There is another scene that shows after the credits. We missed it. I did find out what it was about after I did some checking on-line to see if there is in fact a 4th pirates movie. It is rumored that there will be another movie.

Saturday was a lovely day, no rain! After doing some chores around the house and Jordan and Daddy attending to some baseball, we decided to take a drive. We headed north towards Spearfish. I have heard much about Spearfish canyon since we moved here, but we had never gone up there until Saturday. It was absolutely breathtaking. All the rain that we have had in the last month made for a beautifully green canyon and breathtaking waterfalls.

Bridal Veil Falls

Roughlock Falls Roughlock FallsIf you look real close, you can see the waterfall between Kimberly and Kaylynn's shoulders.
I think this is where we might go for our 10 year anniversary.

Well today is going to be a fun day. I will have a total of 8 kids here for most of the day, hopefully we all survive! Luckily it is not raining today and they can spend the majority of the day outside. My lawn is calling. After all the rain last week it is in desperate need of attention.
Have a great day!!

What fun! Are your kids out of school already?? I have about 2.5 weeks until I have to entertain all 3 kids ALL day. I have no idea how I'm going to survive! : )

deanne: Yes, today was our official first day of summer vacation! Hurray!

tori: It was a great weekend! I think there is another bridal veil falls in Utah. It is a popular name to give to waterfalls.

carrot: Yes, I love our blue skies!!

utmommy: It is beautiful. I haven't been to the Utah bridal veil falls before, at least not that I remember.

elizabeth: Yes it is gorgeous! :D

pj: Thanks! It was a great one!

amber: I felt the same way after watching #2. #3 left a lot of things open as well. Still waiting for resolution!

mary: It was the perfect hike too. Not too long, okay, it was only a mile, but it was a lot of fun. Our anniversary is in December. I would only want to go there if it is snowy. That is pretty iffy lately. Maybe we'll have to plan a fall anniversary trip. Fall would be lovely there!

suzanne: It was a lot of fun. It would be even funner without the kids. ;)

annie: Yes we do! :D
