Return of the living...

Okay, already, stop begging! Yes, I am fully aware that it has been over a week since my last confession post. I wish I could say that I have been on vacation in some exotic place or that my husband secretly planned a Bahama getaway or that I was abducted by aliens and only just returned, but none of these are true. My reason for not posting for so long is much less exciting. I've just been feeling a little blogging blahness.

No fear, I received a fantastic package in the mail today from a certain blogger friend of mine that loves roses. She must have sensed my blahdom and sent me chocolate to pull me out of it. Thank you Suzanne! I've hidden them in a secret location so I don't have to share. They are all mine! Bwahahaha!! Last week I also received a package from Annie. She was kind enough to pass on her book "Overcoming Compulsive Desires." Between that and the super secrety magnet that suggested I might be lacking in my life, I've been all too busy trying to overcome my compulsive desires and trying to get a life. :)

In an effort to overcome my self-absorbed self I'd like to share with you some lessons I've learned or my family has learned in recent days.
  • Using scissors to poke a hole in card stock is never a good idea. Though the nursery handouts turned out really cute. I tried unsuccessfully to get out of my nursery calling yesterday by slicing my finger with a pair of scissors. Next time I'll have to go deeper I guess.
  • Though it starts out pretty and colorful, touching a magnet to the computer screen is baaaaad. Megan decided to hit the computer screen repeatedly with a certain toy that has a magnet in it. The result is dark splotches all over my screen.

  • It's okay to have a bad game every once in awhile. Jordan has been playing little league baseball this year. He is one of only a few boys on his team that can pitch with some control. He is actually pretty good for his age, and I'm not biased at all. He played a great game Friday night and managed to strike a couple of players out. Saturday was a different story. I don't think he threw one strike in that game. Poor guy was pretty bummed and declared that his pitching days were over.

  • Working for family, no matter how much you like them and how well you get a long with them, is hard. I have readers who know my Brother in law and Sister in law so I won't go into any gory details. I'll just say that a move might be in our near future. Perhaps I can explain more another day.

  • I saved the best for last! One must never give up hope on your dreams. My sister Jenni whom I have mentioned has been unable to have children of her own and had pretty much given up on adoption now has a little girl. They are in the process of trying to adopt this little cutie. She is eight years old and has been through a lot in her short life. Jenni and her husband are just the right thing to help her find some happiness in her life. I am so happy for Jenni and Richard and "K"and pray that it all goes well for them.

There you have it, lessons from our life.

You are really considering moving? Would you come back to Utah or move to a different part of SD?

How exciting for your sister! I hope the adoption is able to go through.

I'm really struggling with this month's RS lesson--trying to figure out what I could do to get out of it :)
