Proud as can be

This year Jordan was old enough to play an instrument in Orchestra. I was thrilled when he decided he wanted to play the cello. I love the sound of the cello. Scott and I have also counted ourselves lucky in that the cello is not a high, screeching instrument. Thus, while Jordan is learning to play we don't have to wear ear plugs. I can say this because I played the flute in my younger years and I know full well that my family my brother Tom didn't love it!

Anyway, on Friday the kids school had their Christmas program. This is my son, on the front row playing the cello. :)

This fall Kaylynn started taking piano lessons. I am thrilled about this as well. I grew up playing the piano, or at least trying to play the piano. I love that my little girl is learning too. She had her first recital on Saturday and played "Jolly Old St. Nicholas".

She also played this same song before the school program last Friday which was very scary because of all the people there watching. She was very brave!

I am one proud mama! Way to go Jordan and Kaylynn!!! :)

In other news, I am feeling much better. Thanks for your kind and encouraging comments! I have the best friends! I do have to share this picture. My friend Kendra has been telling me about this Far Side cartoon for ages, well since we got our chickens at least. I think it is quite fitting.
It's the chickens, maybe they are responsible for making me depressed! ;)

You are lucky to have an Orchestra program there. Where I live there is only Band. Orchestra programs have gone the way of all the earth.

Great kids! And funny Far Side. I love Far Side. I especially love the one where one dog is in the owner's car leaving. He is looking on at the other dog in the yard and says something to the effect of "I'm going to the vet to get tutored!" :)
And I am sorry that you have been dumpy...I get dumpy too. But know that you are loved and I especially think you are perfect!

Congratulations to Jordan and Kaylynn--great job. I just love the sound of my kids (now just Kyle) practicing. You definitely have a right to be one proud mama.

Love the cartoon ; )

Oh, Amanda. I'm sorry you have the double D's. Winter does that to me too. Yuck! But even still I look up to your positive-ness. Nobody makes the blues look like nothing better than you! Just look at your adorable family and all that talent. They get it from you, you know! Feel better, keep writing! (when you have a minute) You're still my idol!

Good job Kaylynn and Jordan! That is a funny cartoon! See you at the gym tomorrow, I slacked on Monday. Glad you're feeling better!

I think it is the lack of sunshine in winter. I struggle with it, too.

Amanda, I'm glad you're feeling better! I've been thinking about you a lot! ***hugs*** That's fun to see your kids playing instruments. They look so cute all dressed up. I loved getting to take piano as a girl. Hopefully my kids will want to play someday!

How cool he's playing the cello! I've always wanted to learn to play the cello, and my 12 year old sister is learning to play it right now! Did Kaylynn have her recital at the Black Hills Piano Gallery? Adam and I went to a piano concert there for their grand opening, so the scenery in the picture looks familiar. Love the cartoon! Hope you're feeling more up than down today!

Both my husband and I play(ed) the cello. We have been indoctrinating Bo at an early age, that it's the coolest instrument ever. I think it is so beautiful to listen to.

They look so cute with their instruments!

I love the cartoon. I can definitely relate to the chicken of depression... :)
