First day of school #2

Today was Kaylynn, Jordan and Kimberly's first day of school. They were so excited for school that they woke up at 5:00 instead of 6:00. I was happy to tell them to go back to bed. This year their bus comes at 7:00 instead of 7:15. I am not happy about it, but I guess if I want them to ride the bus we'll have to live with it.

It was very brisk here this morning. A change from the first day of school last year when they wore shorts and t-shirts to school. It was down right chilly today, in fact when I got up to tell the kids to go back to bed I turned the heat on. I am not ready for fall, not even close!

I meant to post this picture with my last post, but I didn't get it edited quick enough.

Doesn't she look so grown up? Megan is really enjoying preschool. This morning she announced to me that she is not a little girl anymore because she goes to school. I keep trying to tell her that she will always be my baby, even when she's all grown up and has babies of her own. She doesn't buy it. Some day she will understand.

Back to school for the kids means back to the gym for me. I only went a couple of times in June right after school got out, so my body wasn't exactly thrilled with the workout I gave it this morning. Too bad! I'm sure I'll pay for it later. I've been really bad this summer and need to get back on track.

I was happy to find that, despite the fact that my women's only gym opened their doors to men in July, the gym wasn't too scary. Not a man in sight! Luckily the mornings are not a real popular time for men. Fine by me, I don't like the idea of exercising with men around. Sheesh!

I've been busy already with my new Relief Society calling. I have had little to no time to spend on the computer. I apologize for not visiting or commenting as much as I would like too. I knew when I accepted this calling that if anything was going to take a back seat in my life, blogging would be it. Don't give up on me, I'll still be around when I can.

Amanda- I'm glad you posted the link to your new RS calling... somehow I missed it the first time! Wow, I think you will be the perfect RS Pres. I would love to have someone like you serving in that position here in our ward. I'm sure you weren't expecting it but what a neat opportunity and blessing for your family.

The back to school pics are great! Good luck with that 7 AM bus schedule. Bleh.

I know how you feel about dropping your baby off at preschool. I guess I am bad. I am not feeling guilty at all. I love my new free time. I am also spending some of my free time at the gym too. Too bad we don't have the same schedule. :0(

That is really early for the bus! I have a hard time getting my kids on by 8:15...but I'm also not a morning person! ;)

Yay for getting back into an exercise routine! And Megan is so cute!

No worries if you don't have as much time for Blogging. We know that you love us! :) Once things get crazy with my school work, I'm probably not doing to be on here as much either!

Your kids are getting so big. I still remember taking Jordan to the zoo when he was younger than Dallan! I bet it's nice to have more time to yourself, but probably a little sad to see your little one's growing so quick! Good work on getting back to the gym, I'm trying to pick it up on my exercise goals as well!

Hey Amanda! I check out your blog occasionally and I love it! You are an amazing writer and I have shed a few tears while reading your posts (especially about your children). Tell your girls "hi" for me; I really miss them! The pics of your kids are great. Congrats on your new calling, I am so happy that you get to be an active part of RS now. I know it was a huge blessing in my life. I miss you all!

7:00 is so early!

You must really enjoy the quiet when everyone is at school. I know my favorite hour of the day is when the littles are down for naps. :o)

Good luck with the gym and your new calling. You'll do wonderful!

It's fun reading about your trip to the gym and eating a white chocolate chunk macadamia cookie at the same time. :)

Yay, babies back to school! I'm loving my quiet time, as I'm sure you are too - that is, what little you have.

hi amanda!
this is so cool to see your "wild geese" again! you made me remember when you posted pics of them and called them that.

i have a new RS calling, too. i am the compassionate service leader. adjusting. doing okay. not totally comfy yet but figuring it out and helping some feels good. i like getting to volunteer in RS now instead of primary. i adored my primary teaching experience with those angels but it is also nice to move on and be in the present different calling, too.

hope all is well in your world.

blessings,
kathleenybeany :)
