It's not over til it's over

But first, for Nobody....
Proof that North Dakota does exist. I've been there several times. I imagine that it really doesn't look that much different than your corn fields (except these are sunflowers).

It's not much to look at, at least the parts that I've seen, but it is there.

And because you really care, this is the highest point in North Dakota. I'm not kidding.

Moving on....

One of the places that I've always wanted to go was to the Oregon Coast. Or anywhere in the northeast for that matter. I was not disappointed by the breathtaking views. We flew into Portland and then drove to the coast. The drive reminded me somewhat of the Black Hills that we live in, but on a much larger and grander scale. It was green everwhere. I loved it!

In my last post I showed you where we stayed. It was just a short walk to the beach from there.

It was rainy and cold most of the time we were there. Those that are native to that area promised that it is not always that cold. It did make for some lovely pictures though!

The first night we were there some of us took a walk down to the beach. Right as we were taking this picture a big wave came up from behind us and surprised us. Of course the wave is no longer visible in the picture, but our look of surprise is.

On Saturday we headed to Cannon Beach to do some sight seeing and shopping. This candy store was a huge hit. Some of the candy even made it home to share with our kids. After we were done shopping we ate lunch at Mo's where we feasted on their famous chowder and witnessed Carronin dispel the myth that you can't eat 6 crackers in one minute.

Following lunch Carrot went for a swim. That is her head bobbing in the ocean. We all stood on the beach, shivering from the cold, and stared in shock and awe. After Carrot's show we went for a walk along the beach to this rock.

Sunday it was my privilege to go to church in Seaside with these lovely ladies!

Aubrey, Me, Glittersmama, Carrot, Suzanne, Yvonne

After church we went back to being tourists and took in a little sight seeing and shopping in Seaside before we drove back to Portland for a little more sight seeing.

Multnomah Falls
Sunday night we were treated to a fabulous dinner at Casa de la Super Happy Girl. NCS's husband is a fantastic cook and had created a feast for us. It was very delicious!!

After dinner we had another sleepover. Air mattresses for 14 lined up....Some of us slept, some of us didn't. I was among the few that stayed up til around 4:30. We knew that as soon as we fell asleep it would be over and none of us wanted our fun weekend to come to an end. All too soon it was time to say goodbye. Can't wait til next year ladies. I miss you!! :)

That wave picture is awesome.

Thanks for the pictures of ND! The only time I've ever seen it, it's been a rectangle with "ND" in the middle...

It really can be warmer here. The last couple of days has been near 80...which is pretty hot for here. We should have done the bloggy party this weekend instead!

I miss you too!!!

Is that really the highest spot in ND? Wow...

I'm with you about the green-ness of Oregon. When I got back to Utah I thought, "Wow, it's really dry and brown here." LOL! It was just so lush in the NW!

I love your beach pics! :)

I just drove through North Dakota today (at least I think that's where we were ; ) As we were driving, it was so fun to see all the sunflowers--I love seeing them there.

Great re-cap. It truly was a wonderful trip.
