This and that

I haven't had much to say lately. I think it is time once again for my winter blah fest. I've been doing so good for so long and haven't felt really "down" for months. I'm blaming it on the winter. We are getting snow today, but I'm hoping that spring is just around the corner.

Today I had the privilege of going to the kids school to see the twins perform. The 2nd grade classes had a special musical program, by class. It was fun to see the girls singing and dancing with their classmates. They sang about space worms and dinosaurs and sang along to the book, "Where the Wild Things Are". Very cute!

Kaylynn has been struggling with a little boy in her class that is autistic. He is enamored by my pretty little girl. What's not to like?!Unfortunately his way of showing his affection for her is by being mean, very mean to her. I've tried to explain to Kaylynn that he doesn't mean to be mean to her and that she needs to try her hardest to ignore him. Today during their program we were able to witness firsthand his behavior. After the program I talked to the teacher and she is aware of the problem and they are trying to keep them away from each other. Why they put them right next to each other for the program is beyond me.

I started physical therapy this week for my ankle. The same one that I sprained 3 months ago. I'm beginning to think it would have been easier if I would have broken it. It probably would be all better by now. The therapist thinks that in another 6 to 8 weeks it should be stronger and on the mend. Ugh! Luckily I've been able to continue working out at the gym with my modified workout. No treadmill or aerobics classes.
I have gone nearly 8 weeks without chocolate. I have counted and marked on my calendar April 11th (90 days, not a single day longer!!) as the final day of my chocolate challenge. I have managed to stave off the chocolate cravings by chewing gum. Whenever I really want chocolate or something sweet I chew some gum. Needless to say, I have gone through lots of gum over the last several weeks. I accidently ate an M&M the other day, I thought it was a jelly bean. Oops!

Your Irish music list is cool!

You rock on the chocolate thing. I don't think I could do it.

The play sounds like fun!

Love the new bloggy look!

How fun for you to watch your girls in their performance. Sorry about the little boy... that's a tough one.

Yippee for sticking with the chocolate challenge.

hi awesome amanda,

sorry the little dude is being a little pain to her.

feel better girl! i have an idea of what you mean. when i busted my knee, my doc said i would've been better off BREAKING it instead of tearing it (he said it is easier for a break to heal and is less painful). i don't wish that pain on anybody.

take care, kathleen

tori: I just wish that I had more to show for my chocolate sacrafice, like smaller numbers on the scale!

nikko: I would give up chocolate permanently to be able to have your sewing talents! ;)

mel: Thanks! It is hard because this little boy obviously has a hard time controlling himself. I just wish that my daughter wasn't hurt by it. :(

kathleen: I'm pretty sure if I had broken it I wouldn't still be dealing with it. What a pain! ;)

I'm sorry about your ankle--that has got to be so frustrating. I am so impressed with your 90 days without chocolate. You inspire me ; )

I hope the little boy who Kaylynn is having trouble with. I hope they can get it all worked out.

That is sort of dumb for them to have put the boy next to your daughter if they were "aware of the problem."!!!!

Congrats on the 90 success! That is awesome!

I'm wishing for spring for you. I know what the long winters are like!!
