Snow angels

Last week we finally got our first real snow storm of the year. The kids were thrilled! They raced home from the school bus and were anxious to play outside in the snow.

Even Megan didn't want to miss out on the fun!
Kaylynn learned that riding her bike is a little difficult in the snow.
Besides posting these cute pictures of my kids I wanted to check in and say hi. Can you believe it has been a month since I blogged last!?! I've enjoyed my blog hiatus though I have missed blogging and my blogging friends. Though I am happy to report that I have been able to accomplish some of the things on my list. Here is an update:

1. Clean my scrapbooking/craft desk. I wish I would have taken before and after pictures. It was a disaster. It still needs work, but it is at least workable space now.

2. Sort through kids clothes.

3. Recover our kitchen table chairs. This will have to wait until after the first of the year.

4. Learn to knit. Actually I meant crochet. That shows you how much I know about either. My sister-in-law Terri was nice enough to teach me how to crochet while we were at their house for Thanksgiving. I have been working on crocheting hats for the girls. They are turning out very cute!

5. Master the fine art of baking bread. I've been making lots of rolls lately and have found a really great recipe. Now I need to be brave and do the bread thing.

6. Make curtains (or buy curtains since I don't sew) to cover our hall pantry doorway. Again, this will have to wait!

7. Play more with my kids. This is an ongoing goal. Not blogging has definitely freed up more time in my day for playing.

8. Work with Megan on her colors, numbers, ABC's, etc. This is also an ongoing goal. Megan has successfully learned how to spell her name though.

9. Plan our Christmas program for Enrichment Night. It is planned, now I just have to get through it! Our enrichment night is next Tuesday and I will breath a HUGE sigh of relief when it is over!

10. Get Christmas shopping done. I have more done right now than I usually do this time of year. Yes!

11. Enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas at home this year. Thanksgiving was great. We enjoyed a more low key, closer to home Thanksgiving than last year.

12. Celebrate my 10 year wedding anniversary next month. Yay!! Next Wednesday is our anniversary! :D

13. Maybe lose some weight because my butt won't be planted in front of the computer all the time. Okay, maybe that is wishful thinking since it is the stuff your face with goodies holiday season. This was definitely wishful thinking. I've still been going to the gym regularly, but I think it is helping me to maintain my weight, not lose it. I guess maintaining is better than gaining. I sprained my ankle on Saturday while walking down our stairs. I missed the last step. Doh! That will definitely mess up my gym plans for a little while. :(

I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season!

Amanda, it's so good to hear from you. Are the kids tired of the snow yet??? Love the pictures.

So glad you have been able to accomplish so much. Great job. I'm afraid even if I didn't blog I wouldn't get that much done!!

Sorry about your ankle. Sure hope it heals quickly.
Merry Christmas ; )

Love the snow angel pic!!! Yes, I would imagine that riding a bike in the snow would be difficult - nice try Kaylynn!

You were missed, but glad you were able to accomplish many things on your list. Now you can come help me with mine! ;)

I learned how to crochet a few years ago, but I never go by a pattern...I make them up as I go. But then again I have only made baby blankets and one scarf (but I'm working on scarf #2 for a Christmas present). So you're making hats?? That's awesome!

I'm glad you have been enjoying your blog hiatus. You have been missed but I totally understand the shift in priorities.

This is a great time of year for homemade bread. I love any excuse to turn on the oven;)

Yea for you! I would love to learn to work with yeast, but I think it would contribute to the decline of my whole "never need to buy another clothes size bigger again" goal. :)
have a great Christmas!!
