All this talk has got me thinking

Several weeks ago I was honored to be nominated in the Share the love blog awards in the inspirational blog category. I was very surprised and honored that someone would nominate me. It got me thinking though, "Am I really that inspirational?". I wouldn't classify myself as being such. Someone out there nominated me though, thank you. Nonetheless, and a huge surprise to many of you I'm sure, I did not win the coveted award. I actually, truth be told, did not even vote for myself. I voted for someone else whom I thought actually was inspirational.

Now there has been talk around the bloging world of blogs that make you think. Now I'm in big trouble. I started blogging because my brother started a blog as a way to keep in touch, not that he has even written anything on his blog since Christmas. He offered to start a blog for me and I told him sure. Thus began "Our Lot in Life". My thoughts are neither funny, clever, inspirational or cause a pause for thinking, much less pondering. I guess I use my blog for a couple of different things. One to do a little journaling that I otherwise might not do, hence, Memory Monday. It is also a way for me get rid of the little thoughts that run through my brain (that is little too). It has been an outlet for me as well. I never realized that I would actually meet people though. I always thought people that met other people on-line were a little weird. Maybe if you didn't spend so much time on-line you could make real friends. Boy, was I ever mistaken. Not only that, but I quickly ate my words.

So even though you may not find my blog inspirational, funny or thought provoking - I hope that you find it at least not completely boring. Is that too much to hope for?

Just so you all know, I'm not phishing for compliments. Nor am I hoping that I will get the consolation prize award. These were just the thoughts running through my head this morning so this is what landed on my blog today.

Are you kidding me? Posts about breakfast doldrums totally count as 'making me think'. We are so boring at our house. It's good to think about other options.
So that is just one example. Enjoy that people enjoy reading you! :)

I enjoy your blog, you are one of my daily reads. However, I know how you feel. I don't feel that my blog is inspirational, funny, or thought provoking either. But, I do enjoy blogging.

No, no, you are not boring. I'm not a thinker either, lol. However, it did make me think this morning. I didn't start a blog to get famous, humor anyone, make people think, or get people to like me. I just started it because I thought about odd things, and wanted to wonder out loud without anyone thinking I was crazy. I enjoy your blog, and I enjoy you. You're just a genuine nice person with a blog. If I could, I'd make you an award. ;)

carrot: Thanks carrot. I didn't start my blog for any of those reasons either, so I guess I should stop worrying about them. I love reading your blog. You have such a fun sense of humor and you are so sweet.

tori: Thanks! Me too!!

Inspirational = thinking. I hate to break it to you.

Don't get too worked up about the thinking award. After all, I was nominated for it, which should tell it's not legit. :-)
