I bought him this for his birthday because I melted the last one we had. In case you are wondering how I melted it, I'll tell you. He used it all the time and since our kitchen counter space is extremely limited it was always in the way. One day I was cleaning the house for book club that I was hosting. In desperation I hid the dehydrator in the oven to get rid of it. You can guess where the story goes from there. A few days later I turned on the oven to preheat it and within minutes we were all wondering what that burning plastic smell was. Yeah, I'm real smart!
I am really glad that 31 years ago today my hubby was born. He is the 8th of nine kids and I'm sure glad that his mom didn't stop at 7. I am also really glad for the family that he was raised in and for the wonderful person he turned out to be. I love you Scott!
For some

Breakfast update:
I found this recipe yesterday online for a crockpot breakfast. We had it for breakfast this morning and it was pretty tasty. This website has some yummy recipes for other breakfast foods, like Blueberry French Toast Cobbler. I think we are going to try that for breakfast tomorrow. I also picked up a recipe for Swiss Oats and Fruit recipe several months ago from a Works for me Wednesday. I finally tried it earlier this week and the Daddy and the kids really liked it.
Thanks everyone for your great ideas! I have so many options to choose from now we can't possibly get bored with breakfast now, for awhile.

11 people have something to say:
Oh man the dehydrater melting, lol, that's why I hide under the sink. ;)
Happy Birthday to your husband
I'm always melting stuff when I put it down on burners that I've forgotten to turn off!
I'm glad you have fun ideas for breakfast and I hope your hubby has a Happy Birthday! :D
YAY!!! Happy Birthday Mr. Scott of Amanda's Lot in Life!! W00T you young thing.
Thanks for all those links to recipes. I have know added them to my ever growing collection of recipe links BUT I might try a few this time.
March 23rd is a good day huh? Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the Birthday wishes for "K". She really liked it. Happy Birthday to your husband.
Recipes - yum...
Happy birthday to your hubby!
I'm sorry your bday was lame. Mine is right at the same time as Mother's Day, so I always feel I get kinda jipped... Better than the day after Christmas (like my sister) I suppose...
OK, MAJOR yum on the crockpot breakfast recipe and a MAJOR laugh over melting your dehydrator. Just because that is SOOO something I would do!
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes for my hubby. I'll pass them along.
carrot: I'll have to remember to hide stuff under the sink next time. :D
suzanne: I've done that before too. Glad to know I'm not alone.
NCS: I hope you like the recipes. We tried the blueberry french toast this morning. It was a huge hit!
jennifer: Definitely a good day for birthdays! Did "K" have a good day?
tori: I'm used to my birthday being that way. I don't know why each year I expect it will be different. A birthday by mother's day would be hard too. Our anniversary is a week before Christmas. We usually spend it shopping for christmas presents. Boring!
amber: The recipes are YUMMY! Glad to know I'm not the only one that would do something like that. My husband just rolled his eyes. Secretly I know he loves it when I do silly stuff like that. It makes me that much more endearing. Right!?
Happy Birthday to Scott!
The melting story is so funny, I would totally have done the same thing.
Recipes sound great - I want to try that crockpot one, yum!
Happy Birthday Bro. McC!
Happy Birthday to your hubby! Hope it doesn't turn out too blah.
Oh cool, I am trying it then, thanks!
