Like some of you I have a site meter, stat counter, whatever you want to call it, on my blog. I check it frequently to see who, what, when and from where people are reading my blog. When I signed up for it I thought I was pretty clever to figure out how to block my IP address so it wouldn't count me every time I visited my blog.
For several weeks now I've noticed a visitor on my blog from South Dakota. I had a couple of thoughts who it might be, but wasn't sure, especially after Wendy moved. Of course it wasn't me because my IP address was blocked. This person, by the way, never left comments, which I thought was a little rude, though they visit my blog on a regular basis.
Today I noticed that yesterday someone from South Dakota had visited another blog of mine that I don't advertise and rarely use. Funny that the information was indentical to the same South Dakota visitor that has been stalking me and not leaving comments on this blog. And even funnier is that I visited that blog yesterday for the first time in awhile.
Evidently I am not as clever as I thought.

ROFL! I didn't know you could block your own IP address. I did the same thing the first few times I looked at my "hits". I thought to myself, "Wow! Someone spent an hour at my blog!" Oh... umm... that was me!
LOL. I know how much I stalk myself. It's sad, really.
I've stopped watching my stats because, yes, they're all me. :) Looks like you're having some rain over there today.
For some reason I've had trouble too. I thought I'd blocked my IP address, but then later it wasn't blocking. I'm not sure what's going on, but I think I visit myself on occasion! LOL! :)
You can block your IP address?? I'd ask you how to do it, but it sounds like it doesn't really work. :)
I didn't know you could block your own address either. You'll have to let me know how.
I wish everyone who visited my blog left comments. I love to get them and I know there are several people who never leave one.
HAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh man :D
Just make sure you click on "Remember me" AND if you delete your cookies and cache on a regular basis (if you are like me), just make sure you re-enter your info before you visit your own blog.
:)
I'm stalking you from accross town... It must be me - since I comment ALL the time, lol. I like to come read the great and thoughtful posts.
me again - thought I should clarify, I don;t know about your other blog so that one is not me. Thanks for the strike - through help. You'll see a lot less of these ( ) and more ----
Hi Jennifer, you are one of the people that I suspected. ;) But the one I was talking about is actually myself. You can come over anytime, and feel free to comment if you like, or not. :D
I've been thinking about getting a stat counter. But I still haven't. What I REALLY want to be able to do is to see when the blogs that I love have updated. Is that possible to do without having to go visit?
I keep forgetting to check my statcounter....haven't really cared about it for a while, but now you've got me curious!! Hmmm....
(Do you ever get the random hits from China!?)
That was fun! I think I would probably think that too.

I love stat counter I get so excited when I see someone from another country stumble upon my blog.I had to block the cookies on the three different computers I use regularly, two at home and one at work my hit numbers are going to go way down now.
