Back to our regularly scheduled programming: Memory Monday
(This picture was taken last year in front of the Bismarck North Dakota Temple.)
Ten years ago today I was about to meet my future husband. I don't actually remember meeting him then, but I have a picture that has us both in it so I guess that is proof. Ten years ago I was in Pennsylvania serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My companion and I were serving in Lewistown, Pennsylvania and were about to have our first baptism on December 22. Our mission president and his wife were going to be there because this was the first baptism in this area in a VERY long time. We were all very excited.
A few months later I was transferred to Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. That is where I officially met my future husband. He and his companion were serving in a neighboring area and we attended the same church each Sunday. We became friends and I felt there was something special about him, but we were missionaries there to serve the Lord and romance was the last thing on our minds. Three months later it was time for him to go home and then we began writing to each other. We became very close through our letters. I came home 2 months later and he came up from Arizona to my homecoming in Salt Lake City. He moved to SLC a short time later. We were married within 4 months on December 19, 1997. It all happened so quickly, but when you know it's right, why wait!

6 people have something to say:
Thanks for sharing! I love to hear about how my bloggy friends met their husbands. It sounds like once you guys were home, it didn't take too long to realize you were supposed to be together. How sweet!
How funny that he snuck into your picture!
Happy Anniversary tomorrow! :)
P.S. How do you make it so people can't click on your pictures to enlarge them? I want to do that too, but I'm not sure how.
Thanks Suzanne! As far as the picture, I just loaded it like usual. I don't know if it has anything to do with the new blogger beta. It seemed like before when I added pictures you could enlarge them if you clicked on them. ????Who knows??? :D
Such a SWEET story! :) I absolutely LOVE that picture of you and your dh in front of the temple!
And I just switched to beta too...I've had a heck of a time with it so far, but now that I've figured out the kinks I think it will be fabulous! :)
So is the switch worth it? That screen always pops up when I log into my account. I can't decide if I want to do it or not.
I love the story of how you met. And I agree, when you know, you know and why wait? We only dated 3 weeks before we were engaged and married 3 months later.
Cute picture! It is so fun to read about how couples got together. Speedy speedy! What fun!
