****WARNING*****
This post may not be suitable for those who can't handle the truth....the truth about poop.
Nothing like poop to end a blogger's block. I haven't posted since Thursday for a couple of reasons 1) I was trying to spend less time on the computer and more time with my children and 2) I couldn't think of anything to blog about that wasn't entirely boring to the rest of the world. Not that what I am about to share with you isn't boring or disgusting, but it is my life after all.
My youngest, sweet two and half year old Megan. The one that made all the other pregnancies, and babies seem...well let's just say that after having a baby that screamed for nine months straight and then having twins before that baby was even two years old, Megan was a breath of fresh air. Anyway that breath of fresh air has turned to a not so rather pleasant scent.
Earlier today as I was escpaing to the blog world I hear this:
Kaylynn: "eeewwww, is that poop?"
Me: Turn quickly from the computer to see what she is talking about.
Kimberly: "eeewwww, she has poop in her hand! MOM!"
Me: I quickly end the comment I was making on DYM's website about wedded bliss and loving your hubby after all these years.
Then I take Megan to the closest bathroom where she drops the poop in the toliet. I run her upstairs to strip her down and give her a bath. As I am scrubbing the poop from her body, including her fingernails, eeewwwwwww, I hear screaming downstairs. Angry, getting mad at eachother screaming. Then I hear someone stompping up the stairs.
Kaylynn (crying): "M-O-M, Kimberly made a mean face at me".
Me (trying not to get too angry): "Kaylynn, can't you see I am trying to get poop off of your sister. Just ignore her." All the while thinking I will potty train Megan when the kids go back to school next week. I can hardly wait till the kids go back to school next week.
What does poop have to do with going back to school you might ask. I don't know really, it just hit me all of a sudden that I am ready for school to start. Don't get me wrong, I love my children and I have enjoyed this summer I think more than any other summer because I know that my time with my children is becoming increasingly precious with them getting older and more involved in other things. Though I do enjoy the break that school affords me and my children. Yes, I think my children need a break from me and from eachother. Please don't judge me for this one statement. Ultimately, my children come first and if for a second I thought I could teach them better at home than the schools could I would do it. Now I will go and be with my children once again, and brace for any and all criticism I may receive for admitting that I enjoy when my kids go to school.

2 people have something to say:
Oh- I can so relate to you!
For the last week I've been thinking- I can't wait till school starts! The bickering is driving me nuts. I think the kids really need and are ready to go back to school and the routine that offers- not to mention a little while apart from each other.
Don't judge yourself too harshly- I know of quite a few other moms who are deep down counting the time down for school to start again!
I am glad to know I am not the only one that feels that way. Phew!
Only 5 days left!
